About Perennial Harvest

Our story begins with a simple belief: healthy landscapes create healthy waterways. Before founding Perennial Harvest, Stuart worked for a nonprofit in Baltimore focused on protecting the Chesapeake Bay through stormwater restoration projects. From replacing traditional lawns with native plantings to installing rain barrels, rain gardens, and other runoff-reduction measures, he saw firsthand how small changes can make a lasting environmental impact.

When he made Traverse City his home, Stuart recognized a familiar responsibility. While the watershed is different, the goal is the same: protecting one of the world's most valuable freshwater resources. Today, we help property owners create beautiful, functional landscapes that work with nature, reduce stormwater pollution, and contribute to the long-term health of the Great Lakes and Grand Traverse Bay.
